And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Today, I want to reflect on something from the Creation Story.
If you’re familiar with Genesis 1, you know God created the heavens and the earth—and everything in them—in six days, and rested on the seventh.
But a small phrase in verse 25 recently caught my attention:
God made the wild animals according to their kinds… and God saw that it was good.
Think about that for a moment. God individually designed and created every animal:
The hummingbird with its tiny wings.
The great blue whale in the open water.
The honeybee carrying life from flower to flower.
And the lion pacing the savannah grasslands.
Even the armadillo, mosquito, starfish, and falcon.
All were created by the God who loves us!
Each one made on purpose.
Each one sustained by God.
Each one declaring His goodness and glory.
And here’s what is even more amazing: The same God who created them created you—down to every detail.
You were not created as an afterthought. Not by accident. But with care and intention. You bear His image. You reflect His likeness.
If He attends to the hummingbird and the whale, to the bee and the lion, to the armadillo and the falcon, He has not overlooked you.
He sees you today.
He knows what you need—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—and He is able to provide it.
So take a breath and rest in that truth.
The God who designed the details of this world has the power and the love to provide for you today.

Father, thank You for the beauty of Your world and the reminder that You made me with the same care. Help me trust Your love, power, and attention today. Provide for me all that I need. Amen.
